Hello friends!! Hope your day has been a wonderful one so far... I thought it was time I posted some photos of a little getaway that me and the Mr. took a couple weeks ago.. I know, I know.. I am slacking.. forgive me? We decided we wanted to just take a quick short trip somewhere anywhere and I hadn't been to Sandpoint, Idaho before so that is where we decided to go. On our way there we found a couple thrift stores to stop at. These are the treasures I found at these shops.
Wooden Tray, oh just thinking of all of the possibilities of this tickles me.
Wood cutting board
Burgundy Pip Berry Garland, string of pearl beads, vintage lace
So I think my day started out pretty good finding these goodies.
On to Sandpoint we go. Sandpoint is a small town. The main downtown strip is only a few blocks long but there is so much shopping, eating and some breweries that there is still enough to keep you busy.
Here is a photo of where we stayed. The Inn at Sand Creek. It is right on the main drag as you are coming into Sandpoint so if you are a light sleeper this is not the place for you. We did put the bolsters they provide in the windows and that helped tremendously.
It is really a nice place. The bottom is a Bistro and the top are the guest rooms. The rooms are really a nice size with a seperate bedroom from the sitting room.
We decided we wanted to be close to the strip in downtown since parking is not great and that way we could just walk to everything and boy did we do alot of walking. Friday was such a sunny beautiful day so glad we got to enjoy the sun cuz it rained off and on and was really windy the rest of the weekend but that didn't stop us from venturing out.
We did find a couple great antique vintage shops here. We purchased a yellow floral metal canister set and a flower shaped ceramic plate for our daughter to go in her new kitchen but those were swiped up before I could take a photo of them.. teehee...
Here is what I got:
I have been wanting a hanging basket for my peg board. So many ideas but haven't decided what I will put in it yet so it sits all empty... Any ideas??
And this:
It is a little raggedy and only has one tie but I so love it.
Some photos of Sandpoint:
Here is an old theater that has little shops in it now.
This place is a restaurant bar type place that has a riding bull in it and boy does it come alive at night and the whole outside is lit up.. I took a photo at night but it didn't turn out.. bummer.
We went to the City Beach on Saturday and it was pretty cold and windy so we just walked along the beach and that was it... a little too chilly to get into the water, even with my tosies..
Here is a photo of me and the Mr. at the city beach.
Thanks for coming along on our visit to Sandpoint. Hope you have a blessed day my friends and a Happy 4th of July! Hugs, Tina
