Little Getaway and some treasures along the way

Hello friends!!  Hope your day has been a wonderful one so far...  I thought it was time I posted some photos of a little getaway that me and the Mr. took a couple weeks ago.. I know, I know.. I am slacking.. forgive me?  We decided we wanted to just take a quick short trip somewhere anywhere and I hadn't been to Sandpoint, Idaho before so that is where we decided to go.  On our way there we found a couple thrift stores to stop at.  These are the treasures I found at these shops.
Wooden Tray, oh just thinking of all of the possibilities of this tickles me.

Wood cutting board

Burgundy Pip Berry Garland, string of pearl beads, vintage lace

So I think my day started out pretty good finding these goodies.

On to Sandpoint we go.  Sandpoint is a small town.  The main downtown strip is only a few blocks long but there is so much shopping, eating and some breweries that there is still enough to keep you busy.

Here is a photo of where we stayed.  The Inn at Sand Creek.  It is right on the main drag as you are coming into Sandpoint so if you are a light sleeper this is not the place for you.  We did put the bolsters they provide in the windows and that helped tremendously.

It is really a nice place.  The bottom is a Bistro and the top are the guest rooms.  The rooms are really a nice size with a seperate bedroom from the sitting room.

We decided we wanted to be close to the strip in downtown since parking is not great and that way we could just walk to everything and boy did we do alot of walking.  Friday was such a sunny beautiful day so glad we got to enjoy the sun cuz it rained off and on and was really windy the rest of the weekend but that didn't stop us from venturing out.

We did find a couple great antique vintage shops here.  We purchased a yellow floral metal canister set and a flower shaped ceramic plate for our daughter to go in her new kitchen but those were swiped up before I could take a photo of them.. teehee...

Here is what I got:
I have been wanting a hanging basket for my peg board.  So many ideas but haven't decided what I will put in it yet so it sits all empty...  Any ideas??

And this:
It is a little raggedy and only has one tie but I so love it.

Some photos of Sandpoint:

Here is an old theater that has little shops in it now.

This place is a restaurant bar type place that has a riding bull in it and boy does it come alive at night and the whole outside is lit up.. I took a photo at night but it didn't turn out.. bummer.

We went to the City Beach on Saturday and it was pretty cold and windy so we just walked along the beach and that was it... a little too chilly to get into the water, even with my tosies..

Here is a photo of me and the Mr. at the city beach.

Thanks for coming along on our visit to Sandpoint.  Hope you have a blessed day my friends and a Happy 4th of July!  Hugs, Tina

Summer, is that you? Getting better, couple Annies

Good morning. Hope you are all doing well today.  I think my cold has finally decided to move on.  I have had a little of a sinus headache lingering but other than that, I feel loads better!!

The weather this week and all through the 4th of July weekend is supposed to be in the 80s here... Geesh!! Finally....  Seemed like summer was never going to make it.  This last weekend wasn't too shabby either, a little breezy but no rain so you gotta love that...  We are in the process of cleaning out our metal storage shed as the roof has been collapsed for a while now, so we can get a wood barn style shed built.  We were going to do ourselves but with the cost of wood, we found that it was actually cheaper to have Ziggy's do it for us....  We just need to get it all cleaned up for them and ready to go.  I am sure they will have it up for us faster than we would have it done anyways so that sounds GREAT to me.

Besides watching quite a few movies this weekend, I did get a couple more Annie dolls finished.  For details you can check them out in the suitcase on the left named "Annie / Prairie dolls".  If interested, please let me know.

I can't believe I am saying this but I did start on some fall goodies already. Need to get ready for the shows coming up since they will be here before we know it... Well, that is all for now!  Have a wonderful week my friends!  Hugs, Tina

Annies

Here are a couple Annie's I am offering...  Not sure if you want to call them Annie shelf sitters, busts, stump dolls or what but here they are...  I love how they turned out.  This first one I had originally finished it just as an Annie but then I changed it up a bit to go more towards an Americana Annie!  I thought with her red hair, the quilt pocket being white and blue.. see where I am going...  teehee....  Hope you like how she is now.

Thank you, Happy Friday, Fall Craft Shows already???

Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes..    Seems like as you get older it is just another day.  I tend to not even really pay attention to how old I am anymore.. hehe...  or maybe I just choose to forget.. nah,,,  that couldn't be it...hehe  My hubbies birthday is a week after mine so we usually have a BBQ and invite all our friends over and have a big to do... Not this year... We didn't do anything to celebrate it like we usually do, just went out to dinner, the two of us and my daughter took me out to lunch...  and even though it was more of a quiet birthday it was so enjoyable!  So thanks again friends!!

It has been quite a week..  So, I told you all about my gramma breaking a rib.  Then my grampa was getting out of his truck and stepped out wrong, twisting his ankle and almost fell down but luckily he mananged to keep on his feet, after stumbling halfway across the parking lot he said...  Yikes.... So,,, anyways, I ended up taking him in to minor emergency and he has a fractured toe and has to wear a big boot until we go to the foot/ankle doctor on Monday....  What a pair my gramma and grampa are... hehe...  Sure glad it is something that will heal and not some health issues that will stay with them permanently...

On another note, I got my first application to sign up for a craft show in "OCTOBER".. oh my gosh...  and so it has begun again...  I guess I better get my behind in gear... I still have some things to finish that I have started and so many things I have been wanting to make...  I just need to find some time..

I guess the weather will be nice this weekend, Finally!!!  So... not sure I want to be inside crafting..  We will see how it goes I guess.. hehe...

Have a wonderful weekend!!
